Everyone is writing about the new 2.1 firmware that Apple released for the iPhone - about improved battery life, increased 3G reception and so on. It is definitely a fine release with a lot of good improvements. But more important - what's still missing in the 2.1 firmware? Here is my (incomplete) list of items that Apple should add to the next iPhone firmware:- Copy & paste across applications (see comic)
- Synchronize Notes and TODO items with iCal and me.com
- Push notification service for applications (promised for September!)
- Usage of the phone as modem ("tethering")
- Allow developers to talk about iPhone development in the public
- 3rd party syncing through iTunes
- Access to the iDisk through the iPhone
- Support for stereo Bluetooth headsets
- Real navigation (and a Bluetooth GPS extension for the first generation iPhone)

And what about:
- MMS
- full bluetooth support AD2P, so we can use our stereo bluethooth headsets
- FM radio app, romours say its support in the hw for FM radio
- send and receive 'Business cards' that all other mobile phones can, I beleive its the VCS format.
Yeah, I missed MMS (although not really needed, as the iPhone can send E-Mail, and E-Mails are free of charge, compared to the relatively expensive MMSes). But more important - taking video clips!
Sorry Michael I beg to differ. MMS is needed..in Europe MMS is huge & not having it is a big functionality gap for a phone over here.

Thanks for your comment! I know that MMS is huge and especially the kids are investing all their money in MMS and SMS. Here in Austria most providers have packages that contain 1000 SMS messages per month...
So I tend to agree - MMS is quite important, but would you use it if you know you can send a mail for free? Especially if you know the other party also has an iPhone I don't think it's really that important, at least not for me.
