about me

Right now I'm with the IBM Corporation as Corporate Webmaster, dealing with interesting projects and problems every day. The Webmasters are responsible for 100 country portals across the globe, maintaining a 100% portal availability. My focus is on JavaScript, especially jQuery and other frameworks that allow us to produce more code in less time. Before that I worked on internal productivity tools based on PHP/MySQL and some C#/.NET applications. Regularly I'm attending various internal and external conferences around the world.

Prior joining IBM I studied Information Technology at the University of Applied Sciences - a very broad education covering a lot of interesting areas like micro controllers, electrical engineering, databases, programming, project management and much more. During that time I worked as freelancer on various projects, most of them Web-related.

In my private life I'm reading a lot (c't, novels of Dan Brown, others recommended to me...), I love to cycle at the Wienerwald and be outside in the nature. I'm also regularly attending Tai Chi classes at IBM. As you can see from articles and blog entries on this Website I love to travel to see the most beautiful and interesting parts of the world. I'm also an Apple freak and trying to convince everyone to switch over to Mac OS.

Happy hacking!
